When I first aspired to show dogs ,I like many of you used to hold in great esteem Judges who always seemed to be officiating at shows. As the years past I began to realize that many of them had absolutely no idea what to look for, and their climb up the ladder was due to their influence in awarding Judging Appointments rather than their knowledge of dogs. One particular day I watched in amazement as this Judge ran and ran the dogs and then placed the dogs with the poorest movement first. I of course was compelled to ask the question, "why run a dog so many times?" if you do not know what you are looking for. This is the basis for this poem.

"Knowledge"
Knowledge Ability and Experience
They’ve judged the dogs for many years
Up and down and round and round
To run a dog so many times
It is of course a total Sham
When next you go to show a dog | ||
