I wrote this poem on the morning of my son Craig's wedding as he and his wife Karin stood on the Bridge of the Brig O Doon in Ayrshire Scotland . This is the domain of Rabbie Burns and the Brig (Scots for Bridge) was famous for the poem of Tam O Shanter who rode over it on his Grey Mare pursued by the Witches

"The Brig O Doon"

As I cam oer the Brig O Doon
A Bonnie lass I saw
Wae smiling face and twinkling Eyes
I thought she wis sae braw

Come sit yae doon and rest a while
Yae tak ma breath away
From now until the end of time
A wish wae me you'd stay

So marry me if you will
And mak ma dreams come true
From now until the end of time
My love of life is you
